Zaleski Family Commits Second $1 Million Gift to ³ÉÈËXÕ¾

³ÉÈËXÕ¾ proudly announces a $1 million gift from Steve ‘75, Jane (Turnbull) ‘76, Eric ‘04 and Sarah (Zaleski) Degarmo ‘12. This transformative donation—the family’s second $1 million gift to the university—will further enhance educational opportunities and campus facilities.

“This exceptional gift from the Zaleski family underscores their commitment to advancing Bradley’s mission and empowering our students,” said ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Interim President Jonathan Michael. “Their support of innovative programs and campus enhancements ensures Bradley continues to thrive as a hub of academic and community excellence.”

“The Zaleskis’ unwavering generosity is making a real and unforgettable impact on our university,” Charlie Roy, Interim Vice President for Advancement. “Their contributions inspire us all, and fuel a brighter future for Bradley and its students.”

This generous $1 million contribution will be allocated as follows:

  • $400,000 to endow the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Summer Fellowship and Artistry Program, a signature initiative that pairs students with professors to design and execute original research projects.
  • $500,000 for immediate capital projects and campus improvements.
  • $100,000 in unrestricted funds to be used as a donor match for the Spring 2025 Day of Giving, encouraging additional support from alumni and friends of Bradley.

“All four of us were fortunate to have had very positive experiences at Bradley,” said Steve Zaleski, speaking for his family. “As a result, we felt a need to continue our support to the university. We believe in a good, solid education and in ‘passing it forward’ to others when one can.”

The Zaleskis’ first $1 million gift, given in September 2022, was used for the engineering drop tower in the Business and Engineering Convergence Center (BECC) and the Ceramic Studio in Heuser Hall, while also creating endowed funds for residential advising, a nursing student assistance fund, and travel funds for international studies and the jazz band.

³ÉÈËXÕ¾ deeply values the generosity of its donors, whose contributions play a vital role in advancing the institution’s mission. Gifts to Bradley enhance the student experience, support groundbreaking research, and provide critical resources to ensure the university remains a leader in higher education.
