成人X站 Becomes a 2022 Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champion

成人X站’s has signed on as a 2022 Champion for Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Now in its 19th year, Cybersecurity Awareness Month takes place each October to spread the world’s foremost initiative aimed at promoting cybersecurity awareness and best practices.

From mobile to connected home devices, technology is becoming more intertwined with our everyday lives. While the evolution of technology is moving at the speed of sound, cybercriminals are working just as hard to compromise technology and disrupt personal and business life. Cybersecurity Awareness Month aims to highlight some of the emerging challenges that exist in the world of cybersecurity today and provide straightforward actionable guidance that anyone can follow to create a safe and secure digital world for themselves and their loved ones.

The Center for Cybersecurity, in partnership with the Office of Global Studies and Initiatives, the Peoria World Affairs Council, Bradley Information Technology Students (BITS), and the Bradley Cybersecurity Club, will host several free events throughout the month of October to spread cybersecurity awareness.

Cybersecurity Day

Friday, Oct. 21, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Business and Engineering Convergence Center, room 1150/1160.

Presentations will be provided by security professionals from LeTS (Leadership & Effective Teamwork Strategies), Mandiant, and Blick Art Materials. Refreshments will be provided.

2022 Cybersecurity Film Series

“The Stingray” episode of “Web of Make Believe: Death, Lies and the Internet” (both parts).

Oct. 5, 6 p.m. Marty Theatre in the Michel Student Center

This documentary includes interviews with Daniel Rigmaiden and Brett Johnson and dramatizes their cyber-crimes. Questions are raised regarding the legality of stingray devices, which have become key surveillance tools used by law enforcement agencies.

“The Internet's Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz”

Oct. 12, 6 p.m. Marty Theatre in the Michel Student Center

This film depicts the life of American computer programmer, writer, political organizer and Internet activist Aaron Swartz, featuring interviews with his family and friends, as well as the internet luminaries who worked with him. The film tells his story up to his eventual suicide after a legal battle, and explores the questions of access to information and civil liberties that drove his work.

“United States of Secrets”

Part One: Oct. 19, 6 p.m. Marty Theatre in the Michel Student Center

Part Two: Oct. 26, 6 p.m. Marty Theatre in the Michel Student Center

The film reveals the inside story of the U.S. government’s massive and controversial secret surveillance program and the lengths they went to try to keep it hidden from the public.
